# About

I'm Afonso, a software engineer at [Paddle](https://paddle.com) in Lisbon. I studied Biomedical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, did research, and ended up building software because I like understanding how things work. When something doesn't work the way I want, I usually build my own.

<!-- TODO(Afonso): add photos (bike, boat, cats) to this folder and fill in the details below. -->

- **Motorbikes:** I ride. <!-- TODO: which bike -->
- **Sailing:** learning, slowly.
- **Watching & reading:** always halfway through something; it's why I built [Visto](/projects/visto/).
- **Vegan:** [QReate](/projects/qreate.dev/) started at the Lisbon Vegan Market.
- **Cats:** a house full of them, weighed in [Traker](/projects/traker/).
